For Music Department Scholarships (Prospective Students)

Students planning to audition for the Department as part of their university application should visit this page for general information about procedures and dates. Request an audition using this form.

The audition can be considered part of the consideration for scholarship as well as admission, but all appropriate applications must first be submitted to UNC admissions before an audition date will be granted.

Requirements include three pieces of contrasting style, scales, and sight-reading.

Students are encouraged to contact directly by email or phone Area Head, Dr. Clara Yang, who will be able to answer your questions and advise in the application process.

For Lessons (Current Students)

Auditions for lessons are held each semester during the first week of classes. Auditions for Fall 2023 will be held in Kenan Music Building, Room 2011, on August 23, 2023.
