Community Music at UNC

Throughout our history, the Department of Music at UNC-Chapel Hill has placed a high priority on engaging our community through concerts, services, and outreach programs. This dedicated community outreach has consistently grown in recent years, establishing the UNC Community Music School in 2013, producing a wide variety of summer workshops, and creating ongoing partnerships with numerous community music groups (e.g. Mallarme Youth Chamber Orchestra, Chapel Hill Voices, Chapel Hill Philharmonia, NC Jazz Repertory Orchestra). These are in addition to our extensive yearly calendar of public music performances, lectures, and masterclasses which continue to enrich the Triangle’s artistic life.
