Course Offerings

The Department of Music offers private lessons for woodwind instrumentalists on campus. They may audition and participate in a variety of ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, University Band, the Marching Tar Heels, the UNC Symphony Orchestra, woodwind and mixed chamber ensembles, and the jazz ensembles. Music majors pursuing the BA or BM degree in music will have specific ensemble requirements. Prospective majors can find the requirements on the Department of Music website.

*All lessons receive credit towards graduation and students will be required to play a jury exam at the end of each semester. This instruction carries an additional fee for both hour and ½ hour lessons. Students will be required to register through the University for credit and through the Department for billing purposes.
