Scholarship Audition In Composition

The audition can be considered part of consideration for scholarship as well as admission, but all appropriate applications must first be submitted to UNC admissions before an audition date will be granted.

The audition consists of a meeting with the composition faculty, playing a recording (CD preferred) of 1-2 original compositions, and presenting and discussing the score(s). Applicants will be considered for a scholarship by the creativity and cohesiveness of the presented composition(s), the effectiveness of the notation (where applicable), and the applicant’s ability to communicate and discuss the music.
