Trash, Surplus, or Hazmat?
Trash
- Any item that cannot be re-used or recycled* needs to be disposed of in the university trash.
- There are several trash receptacles around our buildings. Larger items can go directly into one of the three trash dumpsters:
- Hill – North side of the building behind the Moeser Auditorium loading dock.
- KMB – South of KMB in the Swain parking lot.
- KMB – Loading area of KMB on the north side of the building.
*Recycle bins are located around various places in our buildings. Batteries (including alkaline) can be recycled. Please see the Media Technician for details.
Surplus
- All non-hazardous university property that is unable to be recycled through traditional methods, needs to be sent to Surplus. This includes furniture, computers, electronics, and scrap material (clean wood, metal).
- For items such as furniture, that are reusable, please reach out to your colleagues for any takers before requesting a surplus pickup.
- To surplus any leftover items, contact the department Media Technician or Production Manager to request a pickup.
Hazmat
- Hazardous materials need to be handled through the university Hazardous Materials.
