Registration & Billing
Faculty are responsible for monitoring class rosters and ensuring that students are registered correctly. Calculations for instructional workload and lesson payments are based on ConnectCarolina registration information.
Spring 2024 Registration Timeline
- WAVE 1 of student registration begins October 23, 2023
- WAVE 2 student registration begins November 6, 2023.
- Census Day for Spring 2024 is January 24, 2024. This is the last day the Student Services Manager can register students for classes.
Applied Lesson Registration
- MUSC 102 students can register for lessons beginning the first day of classes through census day.
- Students in all other lessons can register for lessons any time registration is open.
- If a student needs to enroll in 300 level lessons the faculty should contact the department Student Services Manager to ask that the appropriate section be opened for enrollment.
- All voice students must register for a full hour lesson.
Lesson Charges
- Students will be charged for lessons in the week following census day.
- PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON YOUR SYLLABUS:
- Lesson fees will be posted to student accounts in the week following census day. These fees are non-refundable. Lesson fees for the semester are as follows:
- $525 for an hour lesson and one hour of studio class weekly
- $287 for a half hour lesson weekly
- $425 for a 90-minute group lesson weekly.

Registration Assistance
- For assistance registering students for classes email the following information to the department Student Services Manager: student name, student PID, course and section to which they should be added.
- The Student Services Manager can override registration stops caused by overlapping class times.
Independent Study Courses
- Instructors and students should work with the Director of Undergraduate Studies to coordinate an Independent Study section.
- Students formally initiate the process by completing the Online Learning Contract Manager steps.
