Professor Brunner has worked extensively on chant, the subject of his dissertation, but has also achieved acclaim and won many grants for exploring links between music, health, and wellness. He co-founded the Music for Health Services Foundation in 1986, helped establish the Center for the Study of Music and Medicine at the University of Louisville, and has taught courses and workshops on the uses of creativity for business.
