Dr. Goss taught at the University of Georgia, her home state. She is an internationally recognized scholar of Jean Sibelius, and worked on the critical edition of Sibelius’ works, including as the editor-in-chief of the project. In 2009, she published a biography of the composer entitled Sibelius: A Composer’s Life and the Awakening of Finland. In 2019, she received an award from the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland in recognition of her career of work on Sibelius.
