Dr. Bostian taught at Radford College in VA from 1961 to 1966 before becoming Professor of Music and Chair of the Music Department at Denison University in Ohio from 1966 to 1944. While at Denison, Bostian came out as gay during a faculty meeting and became an advocate for gay and lesbian students and faculty at the university.
