The Department of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Lecturer of Bassoon and a Lecturer of Double Bass who will teach classical bassoon and double bass lessons, respectively, to undergraduate majors, minors, and non-majors. Lecturer of Bassoon

This person will teach individual lessons to 4-12 students weekly as well as direct a weekly studio class during which all bassoon students will meet together. The bassoon instructor is expected to respond to current and prospective students regarding recruiting and teaching. In addition, the instructor will perform with the Carolina Wind Quintet. Lecturer of Double Bass

This person will teach studio double bass to majors, minors, and non-majors. Additional responsibilities include attending juries and auditions each semester, possible collaboration in faculty performances, and student mentoring. A secondary interest in another area of music performance such as improvisation, new music, orchestral studies, historically informed performance, chamber music, electronic music, non-classical and/or non-western musical genres, etc., is preferred. Ideally, this person will have experience in double bass performance at the highest level, including but not limited to orchestral performance experience, and an M.M. and/or D.M.A (or commensurate professional experience) in music performance.
