Lecturer (Art and Culture of the DJ)
Jess Dilday (Lecturer) is a music scholar, DJ, and activist interested in local music scenes, dance-floor dynamics, queer theory, and media studies. Jess has previously served as editor-in-chief for the International Association for the Study of Popular Music website (iaspm-us.net), and now serves as an at-large board member. Jess has presented research at past conferences on topics such as José Muñoz’s disidentification and “queer” rap, 90’s musical nostalgia, and queerness within New Orleans bounce music.
