Carolina Jazz Festival Schedule – February 27 to March 1, 2025
- Thursday, Feb. 27, 3:30-5pm Scholarly talk by Dr. Carlos D. Altagracia Espada (Director, Center for Ibero-American Studies, University of Puerto Rico), “The Idea of Freedom in Santo Domingo in the Era of Silly Spain.” Nelson Mandela Auditorium in the FedEx Global Education Center. Refreshments to follow the talk.

- Friday, Feb. 28 at 4pm UNC Jazz Combos with guest, Keith Brown, Kenan Rehearsal Hall | FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
- Friday, Feb. 28 at 7pm Pre-concert talk by Dr. Carlos D. Altagracia Espada (Director, Center for Ibero-American Studies, University of Puerto Rico), “Dominican Emigration: History and Culture in Puerto Rico.” Moeser Auditorium.
- Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30pm The Dominican Jazz Project, Moeser Auditorium | FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
- Friday, Feb. 28 at 9:30pm Jam Session at Imbibe (108 Henderson Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27514)
- Saturday, March 1, 9:00am-6pm Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Festival with Keith Brown, guest
- Performances by high school jazz bands and combos throughout the day.
- The UNC Jazz Band, with guests, Keith Brown, Sandy Gabriel, Ramon Vázquez, Guy Frómeta, and David Almengod will perform at approximately 4:15pm in Moeser Auditorium after the high school jazz band and combo performances and just before the afternoon award ceremony.
