Music Research Workshop
The UNC Music Research Workshop is a collaborative space for graduate students to receive feedback and suggestions for further research. This workshop is designed for our academic community to come together to familiarize ourselves with one another’s research while providing mutual support.

The spirit of the workshop is to facilitate growth and productive conversations for further writing. UNC music graduate students will provide the writing samples in advance and be the main focus of the workshop. All students and faculty will have access to the writing samples and a cover letter (abstract + notes from the author directing readers what to scrutinize).

At the workshop, each graduate student will have 30 minutes of focused time spent on their individual writing samples. The graduate student will present a brief introduction of their writing sample to the group, a faculty respondent will provide feedback, and the other attendees of the workshop can then ask questions.

All music department faculty and graduate students are welcome to come, read, and ask questions. Others interested in attending, please email Melissa Camp (mcamp@live.unc.edu). We hope you will attend and support our graduate student writers!

The UNC Music Research Forum hosts invited lectures by distinguished music scholars from around the world and informal research presentations by members of our department and colleagues across campus. It serves as an intellectual hub for the department and is open to all.
