The Wound Dresser: Remembering Matthew Shepard

The UNC Department of Music presents a pre-recorded performance of John Adams’ The Wound Dresser by Assistant Professor Marc Callahan, bass-baritone, and the UNC Symphony Orchestra with new commentary by Marc Callahan.

This performance is presented in memory of Matthew Shepard and all of the LGBTQIA+ lives lost to senseless violence.

This performance was originally presented live in Beasley-Curtis Auditorium, Memorial Hall, on October 11, 2018. The recording will be available for asynchronous viewing on the department’s YouTube channel after the premiere.

This concert presentation is part of Pride Week at Carolina 2021, sponsored by the UNC LGBTQ Center.
