Preëminent New York City-based early music ensemble TENET Vocal Artists trusts in the power of music to bring joy and peace to our 21st-century world. Under Artistic Director Jolle Greenleaf, TENET Vocal Artists has won acclaim for its innovative programming, virtuosic singing, and command of repertoire that spans the Middle Ages to the present day.

PROGRAM
Baroque Expressions from Italy and England, Mallarmé/William S. Newman Artists Series Collaboration
This winter, TENET Vocal Artists will head out to Virginia and North Carolina to share deeply expressive music from Claudio Monteverdi’s Italy and Henry Purcell’s England. Among the ensemble’s specialties, TENET explores the rich and fruitful way baroque composers crafted duets as a way to double the impact of a single idea through the use of two voices or instruments with powerful and dazzling results.

This event is part of the 2024-2025 William S. Newman Artists Series, a series of select concerts celebrating the alliance of scholarship and performance that animates the lives of music faculty and students at Carolina. This concert is co-hosted by Mallarmé Music. Tickets can be purchased from Mallarme or at the door that afternoon.
