PROGRAM
The Baryton is an instrument with 16 strings (both bowed and plucked) that was played in 18th-century Austria and Germany. Haydn wrote over 200 pieces for the instrument because his noble employer played and expected new pieces to be written for him. Along with works by Haydn, there will be a trio by Lidl, a cantata formerly attributed to Haydn, and a duo by Hammer.
