PROGRAM
Professor Clara Yang brings this fully immersive performance of music and image to the next level. Ex Machina features acclaimed new-media artist Xuan designing this visually immersive experience.
The performance features a group of stellar artists and composers. The work explores the connections between technology and music through interdisciplinary and cross-genre collaborations. Yang will refine and create new improvisations with hip hop artist Suzi Analogue and renowned math rock guitarist Yvette Young (@yvetteyoung). Yvette is a Rolling Stone top ranked guitarist. Movement artist and filmmaker Yili Fan will perform RoboDream with Yang, a commissioned work by Chinese-American composer Phil Young. Yang will also perform a new work written by the Asian-American composer Liliya Ugay. All performances will live in a space of fantastical imagery.
