MUSC 110 — Class Piano (Fall)

Limited to non-music majors with no piano training or music-reading ability. This class will provide beginning piano knowledge and skill to the interested learner. No prior experience in piano or music is required. Students will learn to read music and improvise in a supportive environment. The aspects of music to be studied include understanding rhythmic concepts, notation, pitch, keys, harmony, scales, use of the pedal, musical symbols and proper keyboard technique. Individual performances and coaching will be allotted as well during the semester. Let’s learn to play!

MUSC 136 — Keyboard Skills I (Fall)

For music majors with limited piano training who need to fulfill the piano skills requirement. Students may place out of this requirement through examination. To take the exam, please contact Professor Clara Yang.
