Voice student Gabriela Hinckle recently won First Place at the NATS National Auditions in the First/Second-Year College Musical Theater category!
“It’s exciting to qualify period, and to have the experience to be around other incredible musicians. I’m just extremely grateful for the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and Dr. Collins’ guidance throughout this past year!” -Gabriela Hinckle, class of 2027
Rising sophomore, Gabriela sang “On the Steps of the Palace” from Into the Woods, “Astonishing” from Little Women, and “Whatever Happened to My Part” from Spamalot. Gabriela studies voice with Dr. Daniel Collins and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology alongside a musical theater minor.
Dr. Collins also had a private student, Olivia Corliss, place first in the high school school division.
“The NATS National Convention is always an incredible event full of workshops, networking and outstanding performances. However, seeing and hearing my students Gabriela Hinckle and Olivia Corliss perform their musical theater repertoire, and ultimately win their respective categories, in one of the most prestigious vocal competitions in the United States was an unforgettable joy, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.” -Dr. Daniel Colins
Congratulations to Gabriela, Olivia, and Dr. Collins on these fantastic achievements!
