UNC Guitar Ensemble 4-12-15

The UNC Guitar Ensemble (MUSC 211.8) is open by audition, to music department guitar majors and minors as well as members of the UNC student body. Students must be able to read music on the guitar and be proficient in classic guitar technique beyond a beginning level.

The performance goal of the ensemble is to give at least one concert per semester comprised of works written or transcribed for multiple guitars. Each member who wishes is allowed to suggest one piece of mixed ensemble (guitar and other instrument[s]) music to be considered for the concert. Works in the past have included music from early Renaissance to late 20th century composers, employing classical, acoustic (steel-string), and electric guitars (or bass).

All interested students should contact Billy Stewart (wstewart@email.unc.edu) between registration and the first week of classes. This ensemble meets on Mondays from 7-9 p.m.

Below, you can watch the UNC Guitar Ensemble perform TECHNO by Jürg Kindle on April 23, 2017.
