Murhythmics: Rhythm and Movement for Mindful Stress Reduction and Mobility Strengthening in Senior Adults
- Description: Research indicates that Eurhythmic Movement strengthens physical coordination and reduces risk of falling in senior adults. Murhythmics activities include rhythmic movement, drumming, playing instruments, vocalization, yielding release of body tensions and mindful stress reduction. Participants engage in positive social interactions inspired by the music. Persons with restricted movements (walkers, wheel chairs, physical limitations, etc.) can participate, as can persons rehabilitating from brain trauma (i.e., stroke, etc) and other physical issues. No music training required. Come and enjoy!
