Hey everyone! My name is Katherine Gora Combs and I am a junior from Cary, NC double majoring in Biostatistics (in the School of Public Health) and Music. I am currently Co-Principal Flute of the UNC Symphony Orchestra as well as Principal Flute of the UNC Wind Ensemble and have also participated in several chamber groups and in the UNC Flute Choir. Additionally, I founded and currently manage the UNC Music Ambassadors Program and am also a Media Coordinator for UNC Bands. Outside of the Music Department, I am Co-President of the Gillings School of Global Public Health Student Government and am the creator and director of Concerts in Context, a Pre-Concert Lecture Series sponsored by CPA and Honors Carolina. I am also Vice President of the Tar Heel Outreach Program and volunteer throughout the year as a coaching mentor and test writer for North Carolina Science Olympiad. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, grabbing YoPo, waiting in line for those fabulous free t-shirts around campus, and watching Roy and the boys (Go Heels!).
