Graduate Student (1st Year)

A native of North Carolina, Sierriana Terry received her Bachelor of Arts in music from North Carolina Central University. Her research interests include Anime/Cartoon music how soundtracks portrays the “musical traditions” of other ethnicities from an spectator’s perspective. Other interests include the works of Strauss and late 19th and early 20th century American music, contemporary African American studies in broadway, musical theater and popular music, and the culture of music festivals held by people of color in other countries similar to America’s very own AfroPunk festival. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, watching Netflix (specifically anime and Netflix originals), and writing short stories.
