Gifts and Giving

Thank you for your interest in support of teaching, performance and research in the Department of Music.

The Music Department relies greatly on the material support and creative sustenance of a large number of alumni, friends and donors, without whom we could not sustain the levels of excellence and innovation clearly apparent in the work of our students and faculty.

We have varying needs each year, for our faculty and students (undergraduate and graduate); including support for masterclasses, workshops, travel, research, scholarships, fellowships, ensembles, performances and instruments. In addition, unrestricted support of the department enables me to respond to immediate needs as they arise.

To remain competitive, we need graduate student support to recruit the best applicants into our programs; distinguished professorships to retain and attract key faculty; faculty excellence funds to support enrichment for musicology and performance; technology funds for ever changing mediums and performance funds for enhanced faculty and student ensembles.

If you are interested in supporting the Department of Music, we will work with you to make your gift personally meaningful and ensure that it has the greatest impact on the lives of our students and faculty. For more information, please contact me directly or Emily Stevens at the Arts & Sciences Foundation: 919.843.5285 or emily.stevens@unc.edu.

Thank you!
