History

The Music Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill began its biennial Festivals on Hill in 2002. Our aim is to find a topic of current creative and scholarly interest that can be explored by way of performances by our faculty, students, and guest artists, and also of a research symposium.exploring musical and other worlds in ways that simply cannot be done elsewhere. Enjoy the fruits of our research, and of our artistic labors.
