All prospective flute students are encouraged to visit campus on November 4, 2017 for a visitation day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This day is free and open to all middle and high school flutists.
Students will learn approaches to sight reading and drills to memorize and execute scales, participate in masterclasses, get tips on performance anxiety, and try flutes with JL Smith. The UNC Flute Ensemble will perform at 2:30 p.m., and that performance is open to parents and band directors as well. Students who cannot attend this day are encouraged to attend the Wind and Percussion Day on October 31.
