Spectrum Concert: Grand Opening of Moeser Auditorium
February 25 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm$5 - $10
Celebrate the grand opening of the James and Susan Moeser Auditorium with the UNC Department of Music.
Following an 18-month, $15 million renovation, the former Hill Hall Auditorium has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility. Updates include a climate control system, new audio and visiual equipment, recording tools, a new Steinway grand piano, and a professional-grade stage.
To open the hall, the department’s Spectrum Concert will showcase Music at UNC. It will feature 15 ensembles (vocal, piano, strings, winds, world music), soloists, chamber groups, world premiere works by Allen Anderson and Juan Alamo and more!
The auditorium was renamed the James and Susan Moeser Auditorium to honor two individuals who have made a lasting, indelible mark on the arts in North Carolina. James Moeser served as Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill from 2000-2008 and is a professor of music. Susan Moeser joined the faculty in 2001 and has been a renowned organist and professor.
Tickets are $10 for general admission ($5 for students and UNC faculty/staff). They can be purchased on the Carolina Performing Arts link or at the Memorial Hall box office. You can also purchase tickets at the door.
