Anthony Dean Griffey to Join Music Faculty as Artist-in-Residence We are delighted to welcome internationally renowned tenor Anthony Dean Griffey to our faculty this year as artist-in-residence. His affiliation with UNC-Chapel Hill adds to the strong reputation in the Arts which Carolina is building. During the year, Mr. Griffey will be coaching and teaching master classes to our voice students and to our Kenan Scholars’ cohort, working with chamber music students and UNC Opera students, and speaking in select academic classes.
Announcing the 2009-2010 Kenan Music Scholars The Music Department, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is delighted to announce the appointment of the following four Kenan Music Scholars set to enter the university in fall 2009. They will join our eight current Kenan Music Scholars in this exciting and innovative program.

Celebrating the alliance of scholarship and performance that animates the lives of music faculty and students at Carolina.

Single tickets: $15 general admission; $10 UNC students, faculty and staff.

Subscription Series Pass: $50 general admission; $25 UNC students.

Special Family Subscription: $100 for all family members, all events.

Individual tickets are available at the door immediately prior to the performance, or through the venue box office as listed below. Series passes available through the Department of Music office at 962-1039. Or you can purchase subscription passes by sending a check to our offices. September 9Choir of King’s College London • The Choir of King’s College London offers a rare opportunity to encounter the grand tradition of great British choral ensembles. January 28P’ansori: Korean Music and Storytelling • Scholar and performer Chan E. Park offers a soulful evening of p’ansori, a traditional genre of dramatic narrative singing. Ms. Park is renowned for her unique interpretation of this distinctly Korean art form. Combining narration and drama for a solo vocalist, p'ansori was proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2003 • Co-sponsor: The Korea Society • 7:30 pm, Hill Hall Auditorium
