The South Central Graduate Music Consortium is a collaboration among graduate students in music studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, the University of Virginia, and Duke University. The annual conference, run by and for graduate students, features paper presentations and composition premieres. Prof. Danielle Fosler-Lussier from Ohio State University will deliver this year's keynote address on Saturday afternoon, September 30. Come for an evening of music from the French Baroque, as UNC voice professor Marc Callahan (baritone) performs works by Marais, Destouches and Lully, and featuring Rameau's exquisitely tempestuous cantate Thétis. This concert is the second installment of the 2017-18 William S. Newman Artists Series. Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 students or UNC faculty/staff. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
