Piano Tuning and Maintenance

Max Mitler serves as the piano tuner and technician for the 95 pianos and harpsichords in the Department of Music and Carolina Performing Arts.

To request a piano tuning, or to contact Mr. Mitler about a piano repair, please email him at mitler@email.unc.edu.

Harpsichord use must be approved by Professor Brent Wissick. To contact Professor Wissick, please email bswissic@email.unc.edu.

Rules and Information

Please respect our pianos by never placing food or drink on the instruments.

Please replace all piano locks and covers.

All “prepared piano” or “extended use” of pianos must be approved by Mr. Foy.

The Music Office has a spare key for all piano locks.
