The Dominican Project CD was released by Summit Records March 2016 and features the music of two UNC music faculty, Stephen Anderson and Juan Álamo.  The project began when Guillo Carias invited Anderson to perform with him at the 2014 Jazzomania Jazz Festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic that was hosted by Quisqueya 96.1 FM jazz radio.

After a successful concert and clinic, drummer Guy Frómeta, invited Anderson to return to perform with his group for the Casa de Teatro Jazz Festival a few months later. Frómeta’s band was joined by nationally celebrated Dominican saxophonist, Sandy Gabriel, and following the concert, the group made plans to record together.
